Is this for real? Seriously - ok, the Ice Cream Diet apparently claims that it's possible to eat something obviously delicious, and a person is able to experience weight loss. Since all people, almost all, love to feast on ice cream; this sounds just incredible, doesn't it? We wanted to do a review of the Ice Cream Diet, and inquiring minds do want to know if they can "diet" successfully using the cold stuff.
One aspect of the Ice Cream Diet that isn't often discussed is that it is not especially low in saturated fat, which is found in animal products. You can eat cheese, meat and fish while on the Ice Cream Diet. Some "bad" fats have been found to actually be good for you if taken in moderation. The Ice Cream Diet is a low calorie diet. Conventional diets may not be as healthy as the Ice Cream Diet.
Ok, we'll tell you that this diet incorporates something from psychology in its approach. People will want something to a greater degree once they are no longer able to have it. If you have dieted, then you know the feeling of deprivation that often, or usually, accompanies the diet experience. We may lose weight at first, but in the long run we are likely to return to the foods we've been missing. Therefore, this approach reduces all those feelings of deprivation, and the feeling of wanting to eat unhealthy foods after the diet are reduced, accordingly. This reduction in feeling deprived allows people to feel more positive, and it will also neutralize a lot of frustration and pent up energy.
One thing to keep in mind is this diet is not meant for every person. A person must be able to stick with the concept and practice of moderation because it does involve eating ice cream every day. Unfortunately, every single person will not be able to maintain eating ice cream in moderation. Just as some people cannot drink only one glass of an alcoholic beverage, others cannot stop at a small dish of ice cream. So the Ice Cream Diet is fine if you have a certain amount of self control, but if you have problems eating in moderation, it may not be practical for you.
It's not for everyone, but the Ice Cream Diet is for a lot of people who don't want the total brutality of dieting. This diet requires some discipline, as all do, and if you can do what they tell you to do, and only eat the amount of ice cream they tell you, then you should be able to succeed with this diet and approach. If you have some degree of control, then there's no reason why you can't lose weight with the Ice Cream Diet.
